Earth is the first truly decentralized borrowing protocol built specifically and exclusively for the XION blockchain.

The protocol is developed to allow owners of XION tokens a method of extracting value from their holdings, without the need to ever sell their tokens. By locking up XION tokens and minting ORE (a USD-pegged, fully backed decentralized over-collateralized stablecoin), XION holders can take a 0% interest-free loan against their holdings, on a timeless repayment schedule.

Loans are issued by minting ORE, a token with a similar volatility-dampening mechanism as Liquity. They can be up to 80% of the value of a user’s collateral. More information on the maximum LTV ratio of the supported assets is found on our Troves and Collateral page.

Borrowers mint ORE against the value of their collateral. It can then be used in various ways, such as swapping for other assets, earning income by providing liquidity or participating in the stability pool.

In order to reduce the volatility of ORE, a Liquity-like redemption mechanism is enabled.

Earth Protocol is non-custodial, with the goal of becoming more ossified and governance-minimized over time.
